Get souls to progress

A series of soul doors have been erected to stop our lovable skeleton from progressing, kill creatures, take their souls and unlock the doors!

This was our first jam working together, as well as the first jam entirely for @indie-chris. We hope you enjoy it!

NOTE: The windows version of the game is much nicer looking and has our intended particles intact, the WebGL build somehow got super compressed!

Controls:

  • A + D: Move
  • Shift: Sprint
  • Space: Jump
  • LMB: Attack

The movement of the game feels awesome. It is a little frustrating trying to kill the pumpkins but its most likely a skill issue. It requires insane kiting skills

Yeah, the attacking feels janky right? I wanted to spend more time on it! :D The windows version at least has some particles that tell you if a hit connected.

A bit buggy and little player feedback in terms of gameplay. I keep respawning exactly where I am killed by an enemy which leads to them constantly killing me. With more time to cook I can see it doing well. Not sure where the theme of "Death Is An Opportunity" fits in this game though.

Hey thanks for playing the game! Yeah there were quite a few bugs with the respawning at checkpoint system that we didn't get time to resolve unfortunately.

Also sadly the particles that gave you feedback on hits etc. didn't work in browser version. 

Our idea for the theme was that you needed souls to advance through the "soul door", which was our idea of the opportunity.
